Windom and Kauss Claim Lawrence ITA Summer Circuit Event Doubles Title

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Kansas senior Dylan Windom and her partner, Indiana’s Alecia Kauss, joined forces to capture the women’s doubles title Sunday at the 2013 ITA Summer Circuit. Windom was the lone KU player competing the tournament, which was hosted at the Jayhawk Tennis Center.

Windom and Kauss opened the day with an 8-2 win over Rachel Stuhlmann and Madison Rhyner of Missouri in the semifinals. Windom and Kauss then knocked off Whitney Kay and Kate Vialle of North Carolina, 8-4, in the championship match.

Windom, a native of Tifton, Ga., is one of four seniors returning to the KU lineup in the fall. She finished her 2012-13 season with an 14-14 mark in singles play and an 11-11 record in doubles action.
