Jayhawk Netters Travel to Alabama for Roberta Alison Fall Classic

LAWRENCE, Kan. – A pair of Kansas women’s tennis players, Janet Koch and Nina Khmelnitckaia, will travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama this weekend to compete in the Roberta Alison Fall Classic. Matches will take place at the Alabama Tennis Stadium, the Alabama RecCourts and potentially the Robert Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility on the campus of the University of Alabama.

“We are excited for Janet and Nina to get back out on the court and compete this weekend in Alabama,” said Kansas head coach Todd Chapman. “This is a really strong tournament and the two of them will get a lot of great competition.”

Koch and Khmelnitckaia, were last minute additions to the tournament field as the Roberta Alison Fall Classic will replace an earlier tournament they had to back out of due to weather. Koch has posted a record of 5-2 in doubles play so far this fall, while Khmelnitckaia holds a 3-3 record in doubles action, although the duo has yet to play together.

Other teams who will be competing in the Roberta Alison Fall Classic include: Alabama. Chattanooga, DePaul, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Kennesaw State, Mississippi State, Northwestern, Ole Miss, Samford, Troy, Tulane and UAB.
