Kansas Volleyball Announces Promotion Schedule

Complete Promotions Schedule
LAWRENCE, Kan. – Riding the wave of the most successful home schedule in program history a year ago, the Kansas Athletics Marketing and Fan Experience staff has put together several classic gameday promotions and mixed in new ideas in its 2013 volleyball promotions schedule, released on Friday.
Gameday traditions such as Jay Days, Youth Volleyball Night and the Jayhawks for a Cure match are all included during this season’s 14 home matches, but new creations like the Father/Daughter Match, Faculty-Free Admission Midweek Matches* and the #PointKU Social Media Night will add a fun feel to the 2013 schedule.

KU opens its 2013 schedule on the road for nine of the team’s first 10 matches. The Jayhawks break up their early season road trips by welcoming the Arkansas Razorbacks to Lawrence on Saturday, Sept. 7. Fans that show their South Dakota vs. Kansas football ticket will get in for just $3.
Posters, magnets and schedule cards will be available throughout the Kansas Invitational (Sept. 20-22) and much of the season. When the Jayhawks host Notre Dame in the final match of the tournament, the first 100 students will receive free popcorn, a Louisiana Tech football ticket equals $3 admission and players will sign autographs after the match – the first of three autograph sessions this season.
An international exhibition match against the Italian National U-23 Team marks the first ‘Jay Days’ of the season, which means $2 hot dogs, popcorn and pop at the concession stand. That Sept. 25 meeting will also introduce another addition to the promo schedule as all University of Kansas  faculty will be invited to attend free of charge for “Faculty-Free Midweek” games. Still going, KU vs. the Italian U-23 squad is also Family Night, where families can get four tickets and a concession stand voucher for only $30.
When TCU comes to town on Sept. 28, fathers and daughters can buy one ticket and get one free for Father/Daughter Match. Junior Jayhawks’ parents and youth volleyball players in uniform can get in for $3 admission.
On Oct. 5, Kansas will host its ‘Jayhawks for a Cure’ match against Oklahoma. Fans wearing pink will be admitted for $3. The Active Ankle Match of the Week is set for the following week when Kansas hosts defending national champion, Texas, on Oct. 12. Military members with their military IDs will receive $3 tickets.
Iowa State (Oct. 23) is Fan Appreciation Night, Baylor (Oct. 30) is a combo ticket package with women’s basketball and West Virginia (Nov. 6) is #PointKU Social Media Night. All three are Family Four-Pack Nights and Faculty-Free Admission Midweek Matches on top of several other giveaways and planned events.
Maybe the most memorable promotion of all, however, is saved for nearly the end of the season when Kansas welcomes back its 2003 team for Alumni Night, Nov. 16, when the Jayhawks host the Kansas State Wildcats. The first NCAA Tournament team in KU volleyball history will be introduced on the floor and honored during the match.
Kansas will host its Senior Day on Nov. 23 when the Jayhawks welcome in Texas Tech before closing the 2013 home slate with Denver on Nov. 26.
