Baseball - Kansas Jayhawks

Kansas will wrap up its four-game road stretch with a trip to Lincoln to play Nebraska on Tuesday night at 6:05 p.m. CT at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park. The Jayhawks have won six of their last seven games.

Kansas clinched a series win on Sunday with an 8-4 victory in the conclusion of Saturday’s game and then a 12-2 run-rule win in the originally scheduled game. With the two victories, Kansas now has nine Big 12 wins this season, surpassing its conference win total from the 2023 season.

Kansas and Baylor were into the top of the eighth inning Saturday before inclement weather moved into the area to stop play. The game will be resumed on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. CT and the final game of the series will follow approximately 30 minutes after the final out.

In the weekend series opener, Baylor defeated Kansas 14-5 on Friday night at Baylor Ballpark. Despite the loss, Michael Brooks extended his hitting streak to 15 games, the longest by a Jayhawk this season.

Kansas Baseball will head south this weekend as the Jayhawks will take on the Baylor Bears in a three-game weekend series that starts on Friday at 6:30 p.m. CT. KU is riding a four-game winning streak heading into the weekend.

Kansas Athletics has announced the dates and times for ‘Hawk Talk’ with Head Baseball Coach Dan Fitzgerald, which begins on Monday, April 29, at 23rd Street Brewery in Lawrence.

Kansas Baseball’s game on Tuesday, April 16, against Omaha at Tal Anderson Field has been canceled due to forecasted inclement weather. The game was originally scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.

Riding a four-game winning streak, Kansas will travel to Omaha, Nebraska on Tuesday for a matchup against the Omaha Mavericks at 6 p.m. CT at Tal Anderson Field.

Kansas senior outfielder John Nett was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. The Big 12 award is the first of Nett’s career.
