
Jayhawks Handle Ottawa to Finish Fall Ball Season

The Jayhawks got off to a strong start in the first inning, scoring three runs on four hits while keeping Ottawa scoreless. Junior outfielder Presley Limbaugh recorded the first hit for Kansas and was driven in for the opening run by junior outfielder Aynslee Linduff. The next two runs came from RBIs by junior infielder Hailey Cripe and sophomore pitcher Anna Soles.
Kansas extended its lead in the third inning. Senior pitcher Olivia Bruno scored the first run of the inning on an RBI single by junior infielder Campbell Bagshaw. Sophomore infielder Kadence Stafford added another run with an RBI sacrifice fly, bringing in Soles to make it 5-1.
Junior pitcher Lizzy Ludwig started on the mound for the Jayhawks, recording three strikeouts while allowing just one hit, one run, and no walks over three innings. Bruno took over pitching duties in the fourth inning.
Although Ottawa scored two runs in the fourth, Kansas responded with an RBI double from junior infielder Emma Tatum and an RBI from junior catcher Jaeden Murphy, extending the lead to 7-3.
The Kansas bullpen shut Ottawa down, holding them scoreless for the final six innings. Bruno, Soles, and freshman pitcher Kennedy Diggs combined for five strikeouts, allowing only one hit and two walks.
The Jayhawks sealed their win with three runs in the ninth inning, highlighted by a home run from senior infielder Sara Roszak, securing a 12-3 victory to close out the fall ball season.

With the 12-3 win, the Kansas softball team now shifts its focus to preparing for the 2025 spring season.
