Roster of New Menu Items Revealed for 70th Anniversary Season at Allen Fieldhouse

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Ahead of Monday's tip-off of the 70^th anniversary basketball season at the legendary Allen Fieldhouse, Kansas and OVG Hospitality, the official food and beverage partner for Kansas Athletics, today revealed the roster of signature food items for Jayhawks fans to savor this season.

The preseason-ranked No. 1 Kansas' men's basketball team hosts Howard on Monday, November 4 at Allen Fieldhouse, before the women's basketball team opens its season against Lindenwood on Wednesday, November 6. The ninth-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball team then visit Allen Fieldhouse on Friday, November 8.

The newly transformed Allen Fieldhouse, now equipped with an on-site kitchen, features nearly double the number of food and beverage points of sale, including four Fast Break grab-and-go areas and a Pick N Roll marketplace on the third level. As part of its commitment to the vibrant local community, OVG Hospitality is showcasing a diverse selection of local flavors and highlighting products from regional companies. Fans can expect to find offerings from renowned local businesses such as McLain's Bakery, Farm-to-Market, Fabulous Fish, Kuna Meats, Cozzini Bros., Krystal Creations, and Regal KC.

Highlights of the new menu for the 2024-25 Kansas basketball games at Allen Fieldhouse include:

Nothing but Nachos: A towering plate of vibrant Jayhawk-colored tortilla chips piled high with a generous drizzle of spicy cheese sauce that brings the perfect kick to each bite. It is crowned with tangy pickled red onions, zesty Fresno jalapeños, and a swirl of creamy crema. Add shredded chicken simmered in a rich, smoky tomato or chipotle sauce or savory shredded beef seasoned with aromatic chilies and garlic.

Handheld Empanadas: Perfectly flaky and filled with a protein-packed blend of savory goodness. Each bite is a delightful explosion of flavor encased in a golden, crispy shell, served with a zesty ranch dipping sauce that adds a refreshing tang.

Larryville Links: Classic hot dogs grilled to perfection and served in a soft, fresh bun. Top it off with a generous drizzle of zesty mustard and a choice of sautéed peppers, sweet onions, or savory sauerkraut.

Tiza De Roca Cantina's Street Tacos: Two delicious tacos served in warm flour tortillas generously topped with fresh diced onions, crunchy radishes, vibrant cilantro, and a drizzle of creamy sauce. Choose from two mouthwatering options: Beef Barbacoa, with tender, fall-apart beef seasoned with savory chilies and garlic, or Chicken Tinga, featuring shredded chicken bathed in a rich, smoky tomato and chipotle sauce.

Biggs Pulled Pork Sandwich: A true local favorite from Lawrence, KS, featuring tender, slow-cooked pork shoulder expertly seasoned and smothered in Biggs BBQ's signature tangy barbecue sauce. The sandwich is nestled between two freshly baked, toasted brioche buns.

The Pick and Roll: A delicious selection of cold sandwiches, including the hearty Club Wrap with turkey, ham, and bacon, the flavorful Italian Wrap filled with salami and fresh mozzarella, and the savory Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich featuring grilled chicken and crispy bacon.

The Hawks Nosh: The go-to kosher stand offers delicious comfort foods celebrating classic Jewish flavors. Dive into a mouthwatering New York Pastrami on Rye, piled high with succulent, spiced pastrami and tangy mustard and nestled between two slices of fresh rye bread. Pair it with crispy Hot Potato Latkes, golden and perfectly seasoned, and serve it with sour cream.

Italian Beef Sandwich: Expertly slow-cooked to perfection, this sandwich delivers a rich, savory flavor that is simply irresistible. It is topped with creamy provolone cheese that melts beautifully and a generous helping of spicy giardiniera for an extra kick. This dish is served on a New York-style hoagie roll.

The Fieldhouse Grill: Offering famous game day favorites including the Impossible Burger topped with fresh guacamole, lettuce, and tomato, or the Classic Cheeseburger featuring a third-pound patty with American cheese on a local toasted potato bun.
