
Jayhawks in the NFL – Week 1

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The National Football League kicks off the 2024 season this weekend and seven former Kansas Jayhawks are currently listed on NFL rosters, with four on active rosters, two on injured reserve and one on a practice squad.
Dorance Armstrong
7th NFL Season, 1st with Washington Commanders (#92)
Preseason: Appeared in two games for the Commanders. Armstrong is in his first season with Washington after signing a three-year free agent contract in the offseason and he is slated to be one of the Commanders' starting defensive ends.
Austin Booker
1st NFL Season with Chicago Bears (#94)
Preseason: Was a standout performer in his first preseason, appearing in all four games for the Bears with one start. Booker totaled nine tackles and four quarterback hurries, with his best effort coming with 2.5 tackles for loss against the Buffalo Bills on Aug. 10.
Dominick Puni
1st NFL Season with San Francisco 49ers (#77)
Preseason: After becoming Kansas' highest-drafted player since 2008, Puni joined the reigning NFC Champion 49ers and is in line for the starting job at right guard heading into his rookie season. He started all three of San Francisco's preseason games.
Steven Sims Jr.
6th NFL Season, 2nd with Houston Texans (#82)
Preseason: Had at least one reception in each of the Texans' preseason games, totaling five receptions for 64 years. Sims is also a time candidate to see extensive time as both a kick and punt returner in his second year in Houston.
Jason Bean
1st NFL Season with Indianapolis Colts (#8)
Preseason: Appeared in all three preseason games for the Colts, completing 15-of-19 (78.9 percent) passes for 197 yards and a touchdown. Also carried the ball 11 times for 53 yards and two touchdowns. Bean was waived on cutdown day, but quickly resigned to the Colts' practice squad.
Hakeem Adeniji
5th NFL Season, 1st with Cleveland Browns (#74)
Preseason: Appeared in the Browns' first two preseason games but suffered a season-ending injury against the Minnesota Vikings on Aug. 17 and was placed on injured reserve two days later.
Earl Bostick
2nd NFL Season with Dallas Cowboys (#64)
Preseason: Played in the Cowboys' first preseason game before suffering a season-ending injury during a joint practice with the Los Angeles Rams. Bostick was placed on injury reserve on Aug. 14.
