LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas swimming and diving program announced the signing of nine-year-old Finley Murphy through Team IMPACT last Wednesday.Â
"We are looking forward to Finley joining our squad," said Kansas head coach Clark Campbell. "She will truly make an impact on us all and we are excited for her to be a part of our team."Â
Finley was diagnosed with Spina Bifida and DiGeorge Syndrome, which is a birth defect where the spine and spinal cord don't form properly, leading to potential physical and neurological issues.Â
Finley is a lover of swimming, football, music and dancing and is described by her peers as friendly and happy. Finley's favorite movie is "Frozen", and she looks up to her mother as her biggest role model in life.Â
Swimming and Diving is one of seven programs at KU that partners with Team IMPACT, including baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball, football, volleyball and softball.Â
