Jared Casey Named to CSC Academic All-America Team

LAWRENCE, KAN. – Kansas' Jared Casey was named Second Team Academic All-America as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday. The team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Casey, from Plainville, Kansas, earns his first CSC Academic All-America honor with a 3.91 GPA in Sport Management at KU. Casey becomes the 15th Jayhawk in program history to earn the Academic All-America distinction, including the fifth in the past three seasons, joining Mason Fairchild (2023), Jalon Daniels (2022), Sam Burt (2022) and Earl Bostick Jr (2002).

Casey recently finished his senior season as a Jayhawk, earning First Team All-Big 12 honors in 2024. Casey was fifth on the team with 18 receptions for 203 yards and two touchdowns as a senior. He was previously named a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, and he was on the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List.

To qualify for the Academic All-America teams, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50, be at least a sophomore athletically and academically with a year in residence at the school and appear in 90 percent of all contests. Upon being named Academic All-District, individuals are placed on the All-America ballot.

Casey is one of eight individuals from the Big 12 Conference to be named to the Academic All-America teams, while Colorado's Travis Hunter was named the Academic All-America Team Member of the Year for Division I.
