LAWRENCE, Kan. – Trent Perry has signed a financial aid agreement to play men's basketball at Kansas, KU head coach
Bill Self announced today. Perry will be a freshman at Kansas for the 2026-27 season.
Described as a shooting guard who can also play small forward, Perry, 6-foot-5, 190 pounds, is playing at Link Academy in Branson, Missouri. A native of Frisco, Texas, Perry played at Lone Star High School and averaged 13.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game, prior to Link Academy.
Perry has been described as having a high motor who creates extra possessions with his defense. Additionally, Perry has great length that includes a 7-foot-2 wingspan.
"Trent is a winner," Self said. "He does a little bit of everything. He's athletic. He's got size. He's a guy that can play multiple positions on the floor. I feel like when Trent is on your team, your team's automatically better."
Ranked No. 77 by ESPN.com, Perry played AAU basketball for Mokan Elite. Additionally, Perry participated in training camp for the 2023 USA Men's U16 National Team in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with USA Basketball.
