LAWRENCE, Kan. – Power forward Davion Adkins has signed a financial aid agreement to play men's basketball at Kansas, KU head coach
Bill Self announced today. Adkins will be a freshman at Kansas for the 2026-27 season.
From Arlington, Texas, Adkins (6-foot-9, 205 pounds), is playing his final prep season at Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Adkins was the top-rated player in Texas before announcing his plans to play at Prolific Prep.
"Davion is a prototypical power forward that can also be big enough to play the pivot," Self said of Adkins who has a 7-foot-2 wingspan. "We're excited about him because he's versatile. He's an athlete. He can play above the rim and has shown great improvement over the last year. We feel Davion's ceiling is very high."
A five-star recruit, Adkins is ranked No. 27 by Rivals.com, No. 33 by 247Sports.com, and No. 46 by ESPN.com. He averaged 11.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.3 blocked shots while shooting 54.8 percent at the NBPA Top 100 camp this past summer.
Adkins becomes the fourth signee for Kansas men's basketball during the fall signing period joining Trent Perry, Taylen Kinney, and Luke Barnett.
