LAWRENCE, Kan. – After breaking or tying the department GPA record for six straight semesters, Kansas student-athletes have done it again. Kansas Athletics announced today that student-athletes combined for a department-record 3.54 GPA for the Fall 2025 semester.Â
This comes on the heels of KU student-athletes achieving a record 3.45 GPA in the Fall of 2024, only to break it in the Spring of 2025 with a 3.50, paving the way for another record-setting semester this fall. A total of 383 student-athletes earned a spot on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll, which equates to 85 percent of student-athletes. There were 119 student-athletes, who posted a 4.0 GPA.Â
"A highlight of each semester is receiving the grade report from our incredible academic support team, which showcases the amazing work of our student-athletes in the classroom," Kansas Director of Athletics Travis Goff said. "This level of success takes a coordinated and committed effort from our student-athletes, coaches, and academic staff and that group continues to raise the bar.  To break or tie a department record for seven straight semesters is a tremendous testament to our student-athletes and the pride they take in representing the University of Kansas."
For a record eighth-straight semester, all teams recorded a 3.0 GPA or higher. Five programs set a new GPA record, including volleyball (3.80), soccer (3.74), softball (3.59), rowing (3.58) and men's track and field (3.46). Men's basketball tied a program record with a 3.29 mark.Â
Swim and dive had a strong semester with a 3.83 mark and set the bar for the department, while women's golf recorded a 3.78. Women's basketball posted a 3.68, while the tennis squad finished with a 3.66, followed by women's cross country (3.62) and men's golf (3.61). Women's track and field (3.53), men's cross country (3.43), football (3.41), and baseball (3.39) all finished at 3.39 or higher and had strong showings this past fall.
