FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Kansas Swimming and Diving capped off the 2024-25 season with a 25th-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Championships in Federal Way, Washington, highlighted by a historic performance from First Team All-American diver
Shiyun Lai.
"We're all so happy for Shiyun and her performance at NCAAs," Kansas head coach
Clark Campbell said. "She competed at the highest level and we could not have asked for a better representative of our program. It was an outstanding way to end our season."
Lai secured seventh place in the one-meter diving event on Thursday with a score of 309.10, then followed up with a sixth-place finish in the three-meter event at 357.40. Her performances earned her two First Team All-America honors and marked the highest placement by a Jayhawk since Michelle Rojohn won the three-meter event at the 1996 NCAA Championships.
The Kansas Jayhawks wrapped up their season with a 3-4 dual meet record, an eighth-place finish at the Big 12 Championship, and a 25th-place finish at the NCAA Championships—the team's best result since finishing 22nd at the 1996 NCAA Championships in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
