TULSA, Okla. – The Kansas men's golf team will open postseason play on Tuesday, April 22, at the Big 12 Men's Golf Championship at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Â
The 72-hole tournament will feature 36 holes on Tuesday, 18 on Wednesday and 18 on Thursday. The final round on Thursday will be broadcast live on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. CT, with Ryan Burr and Carl Paulson on the call.Â
No. 9-seed Kansas will tee off on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. CT and be grouped with No. 10-seed TCU, No. 11-seed K-State and No. 12-seed Iowa State.Â
"The postseason is the most exciting part of the schedule. Southern Hills will be a great test of golf and obviously the Big 12 is a very strong league," said Kansas head coach Jamie Bermel. "I told the guys to just worry about what you do, control the things you can control, and we will be just fine. This is a major championship golf course for a reason. It's long, the driving areas are small, and the greens are very difficult. The winner this week will be the team with the most patience. It rained five inches in Tulsa on Saturday and I know the course will be extremely long."Â
Bermel will stick with the same lineup that led the Jayhawks to victory at the Hawkeye Invitational on April 14. Senior Gunnar Broin, juniors Will King and Luke Honner, sophomore Max Jelinek and freshman Ty Lasley will start for Kansas. Sophomore Noah Holtzman will serve as the substitute for Kansas this week.Â
During the 2024-25 season, the Jayhawks captured one team title and two individual titles. Broin earned his first medalist honors at the Sea Island Invitational on March 18, while King claimed victory at the Hawkeye Invitational. As a team, Kansas has finished inside the top five in eight of its 11 tournaments this season.Â
