LAWRENCE, Kan. — Combo guard Jayden Dawson his signed a financial aid agreement and will play basketball at Kansas, KU head coach
Bill Self announced today. Dawson comes to Kansas from Loyola-Chicago and will be a senior for the 2025-26 season.

Dawson, 6-foot-4, 195-pounds, started all 32 games for Loyola this past season and averaged 13.9 points to earn All-Atlantic 10 Second Team honors. The Omaha, Nebraska, native made 86 three-point field goals and shot 36.3 percent from beyond the arc. He drained five or more threes in seven games, including a career-high six on two occasions, which came against Richmond and Saint Louis in back-to-back contests. Dawson had six games of 20 or more points and averaged 3.1 rebounds per contest in 2024-25.

"We are so excited about Jayden," Self said. "He had an excellent year at Loyola-Chicago. He's got good size, plays any perimeter position and can shoot the ball. Jayden is a great start to our portal signing."

In the second round of the 2025 NIT, Dawson scored a career-high 35 points in Loyola's 77-76 win against San Francisco. Loyola went 25-12 and advanced to the semifinals of the NIT, losing to eventual NIT champion Chattanooga, 80-73.

In his three seasons at Loyola, Dawson started 47-of-72 games played, averaged 9.7 points and made 140 threes. He brings 701 career points to KU.

Dawson played high school basketball at Omaha Central, where he was an all-state and super state selection following his senior season in 2021-22. He played AAU basketball for Nebraska Supreme.
