LAWRENCE, Kan. — Guard Anthony "Tre" White has signed a financial aid agreement to play basketball at Kansas for the 2025-26 season, KU head coach
Bill Self announced today. White will be a senior and comes to KU after playing the 2024-25 season at Illinois. White is Kansas' second transfer signee, along with combo guard Jayden Dawson from Loyola-Chicago, who signed with KU on April 4.
Â
"We are so happy we signed Tre," Self said. "We've known him a long time and it's come full circle since he committed to us as a high school freshman. He's got good size at 6'7" and can play multiple spots, like a Swiss Army knife. We feel he's an immediate major contributor, a playmaker, and with his size can guard one through four."
Â
White, 6-foot-7, 210-pounds, started 31 of 32 games played in 2024-25, where he averaged 10.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest. The Dallas native shot 50.7 percent from the field and 82.4 percent from the free throw line as Illinois finished 22-13 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. White had four games of 20-plus points, including a season-high 23 against Wisconsin on Dec. 10, 2024.
Â
White began his college career at USC where he was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team in 2022-23. He averaged 9.0 points and 5.1 rebounds per game at USC which finished 22-11 and reached the NCAA Tournament. He then transferred to Louisville where he averaged 12.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest in 2023-24. He posted his career high with 29 points at Clemson on Jan. 30, 2024, while at Louisville.Â

White played his senior season in high school at perennial powerhouse Prolific Prep in Napa, California. Prior to Prolific Prep, White played at Little Elm High School in Little Elm, Texas.
