Jayhawks in the NBA Update

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The 2025-26 NBA regular season is nearly halfway through, and Kansas has multiple players making an impact at the professional level.

There are 10 Jayhawks currently on NBA rosters, including Ochai Agbaji (Toronto Raptors), Christian Braun (Denver Nuggets), Gradey Dick (Toronto Raptors), Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers), Johnny Furphy (Indiana Pacers), Kevin McCullar Jr. (New York Knicks), Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk (Utah Jazz), Kelly Oubre Jr. (Philadelphia 76ers), Andrew Wiggins (Miami Heat) and Jalen Wilson (Brooklyn Nets).

Ochai Agbaji – Toronto Raptors

In his fourth season in the league and his second full year with the Toronto Raptors, Agbaji is averaging 4.6 points per game and 2.4 rebounds per contest in 16.2 minutes per appearance. He has played in 34 games for the Raptors this season, including 12 starts.

Agbaji started 10 consecutive games for Toronto from December 9-31. He scored 10 points and had two blocks in his most recent game on January 14 at Indiana.

Christian Braun – Denver Nuggets

After signing a five-year contract extension with Denver before the season, Braun has been sidelined for much of the year due to injury. The 2023 NBA Champion is averaging 9.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 28.9 minutes per game. He has played in 14 contests and started in each of those games.

Gradey Dick – Toronto Raptors

Dick has turned into a key rotational piece for Toronto off the bench this season. The third-year NBA guard is averaging 6.6 points and 2.2 rebounds in 16.2 minutes per game. He has played in every game this season for the Raptors who are battling for the top spot in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference.

On January 14, Dick had his first career double-double. He finished with 21 points, 11 rebounds and three assists in 30 minutes against Indiana.

Joel Embiid – Philadelphia 76ers

After working his way back from injury at the beginning of 2025-26 season, Embiid has returned to form over the last month. The seven-time All-Star has scored at least 20 points in each of his last 13 games, including five 30-point performances.

This season, Embiid has poured in 24.0 points per game, 6.9 rebounds per contest and 3.3 assists in 29.5 minutes per game.

Johnny Furphy – Indiana Pacers

Furphy missed a majority of the first month and a half of the season with injuries, but he has been on the court consistently since early December. The Australia native has started 11 of the last 12 games for the Pacers. For the season, Furphy averages 5.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 17.2 minutes per game.

Furphy also recorded his first career double-double in the NBA on January 14 with 10 points and 10 rebounds against Toronto. Furphy and Dick were playing against each other when they each got their first career double-doubles.

Kevin McCullar Jr. – New York Knicks

In his second season with the New York Knicks, McCullar Jr. has played in 12 games off the bench. McCullar's best game of the season came on December 27 when he scored 13 points, had eight rebounds, two assists and two steals in 23 minutes of action.

McCullar has also played a handful of games for the Westchester Knicks of the NBA G League.

Svi Mykhailiuk – Utah Jazz

An eight-year NBA veteran, Mykhailiuk has started all but seven games for the Jazz this season. He is averaging 9.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in 24.8 minutes. Mykhailiuk's best game of the season came on November 5 when he poured in a career-high 28 points at Detroit.

Kelly Oubre Jr. – Philadelphia 76ers

After starting the first 12 games of the season, Oubre Jr. suffered an injury that kept him out for nearly two months. The 11-year NBA forward returned last week and has played in each of the 76ers last six games. In 18 games this season, Oubre is averaging 13.4 points and 4.8 rebounds in 31.6 minutes per contest. He has scored in double figures in 13 of those games.

Andrew Wiggins – Miami Heat

The longest active tenured Jayhawk in the NBA, Wiggins is playing his first full season in Miami. He has averaged 15.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 31.8 minutes per game. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft has started 38 games this season for the Heat.

Wiggins has scored in double figures in 34 of his 38 appearances this season. He put up 23 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals earlier this week on the road against first-place Oklahoma City.

Jalen Wilson – Brooklyn Nets

Playing in his third season in Brooklyn, Wilson has served in a role off the bench this season. The power forward has played in 26 games and averaged 5.0 points in 13.6 minutes of action. Wilson score 11 points on January 11 at Memphis in nearly 18 minutes as a reserve.
