Kansas Leads the Conference with 92 Student-Athletes on Fall Academic All-Big 12 Teams

IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference announced the 2025 Fall Academic All-Big 12 Teams on Wednesday. A total of 1,093 student-athletes across the conference were recognized, including 92 Jayhawks receiving the honor, the most among the conference.
In addition, Kansas had 13 individuals finish the semester with a 4.0 GPA, including, Sawyer Schmidt (cross country), Carson Bruhn (football), Leyton Cure (football), Amir Herring (football), Finn Lappin (football), Laith Marjan (football), Cole Petrus (football), Jack Tanner (football), Ezra Vedral (football), Kate Langfelder (soccer), Aisha Aiono (volleyball), Heidi Devers (volleyball) and Molly McCarthy (volleyball).
Kansas' Big 12-leading 92 student-athletes recognized on the Academic All-Big 12 Team comes after Jayhawk student-athletes set a department record 3.54 GPA for the Fall 2025 semester. It was Kansas' eighth-straight semester with all teams recording a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Among Kansas' All-Big 12 honorees, 51 were from football, 15 from women's soccer, nine from volleyball, nine from men's cross country and eight from women's cross country. BYU had the second most honorees with 82, followed by UCF (79) and Oklahoma State (76).
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests.
