LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas men's basketball will be the No. 3 seed for the upcoming Big 12 Tournament, March 10-14, at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Kansas (22-9, 12-6) earned a double bye and will play its first game of the event in the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 12 at 8:30 p.m. CT. The quarterfinal contest will be televised on ESPN or ESPN2.

In its quarterfinal contest, Kansas will face either No. 11 Colorado, No. 14. Oklahoma State, or No. 6 TCU. Colorado and Oklahoma State will play in the first round on Tuesday, March 10, at 8:30 p.m. and the winner of that contest will play TCU on Wednesday, March 11, at 8:30 p.m. in the second round. The second-round winner will play Kansas on March 12.

This season, Kansas posted a combined 3-0 record against its potential quarterfinal opponents. KU defeated TCU, 104-100 in overtime, on Jan. 6 in Allen Fieldhouse. KU won at Colorado, 75-69, on Jan. 20, and won at Oklahoma State, 81-69, on Feb. 18.
Kansas is the No. 3 seed in the Big 12 Tournament for the fourth time in the 30-year history of the conference. KU was No. 3 seed in 1999, 2004, and 2019. The Jayhawks won the 1999 Big 12 Tournament; their third consecutive having won the first two conference tourneys in the league's first two years of existence in 1997 and 1998. KU advanced to the semifinals of the 2004 event, and the championship game of the 2019 Big 12 tourney.

Kansas has won 16 conference tournament titles, and this does not include the 2018 title that was later vacated. KU has won 11 Big 12 Tournaments, with its last in 2022.
Kansas has a 79-30 overall in conference tournament play, including 50-14 in the Big 12 Tournament, this does not include the 2018 tourney.
Should Kansas win its quarterfinal contest, KU would play in the semifinals on Friday, March 13, at 8:30 p.m.
