LAWRENCE, Kan. — Kansas men's basketball sophomore
Flory Bidunga has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Second Team, the CSC announced today.

Bidunga, from Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, went to high school in Kokomo, Indiana. He is a communication studies major and a sport management minor maintaining a 3.63 grade point average (GPA).

To qualify for Academic All-America consideration this year, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, along with having at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Nominated student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the games. Each student-athlete nominated has their candidacy evaluated by a sub-committee with sport expertise to ensure that only the top student-athletes are elevated to the national voting ballot. Voting for Academic All-America is done by the CSC membership.

Bidunga's honor marks the 21st time a Jayhawk has been named men's basketball CSC Academic All-America and the first since Tyrel Reed in 2011.
