LAWRENCE, Kan. — Center Christian Reeves became the latest to sign with Kansas Men's Basketball, KU head coach
Bill Self announced today. Reeves will be a senior at Kansas after playing last season at College of Charleston.
"I think that Christian will have an immediate impact for us," Self said. "He really didn't have an opportunity to play a ton until College of Charleston and what was so impressive is he averaged over 11 points and eight rebounds a game with a hurt shoulder all season long. It's exciting because he's dealt with so many injuries and for the first time in his college career, we can see the potential because it's the first time he's really been able to play."
At College of Charleston in 2025-26, Reeves (7-foot-2, 255 pounds) started 18 games of 31 games played and averaged 21.4 minutes, 11.1 points and a team-high 7.8 rebounds per contest. His 7.8 boards per game ranked fifth in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA). The Charlotte, North Carolina, native ranked second in the CAA with 1.42 blocked shots per game and his eight double-doubles were third in the league. Reeves posted career highs against Elon (1/24/26) with 29 points and 18 rebounds.
Reeves began his college career at Duke and played for two seasons in 2022-23 and 2023-24. The following season, in 2024-25, he played in 29 games, with one start, at Clemson. For his career, Reeves has played 75 games with 18 starts.
For his high school career, Reeves went to Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia. He was rated the No. 5 player from the state of North Carolina by ESPN100 coming out of high school.
Reeves is the third transfer to join the KU roster this spring, along with Keanu Dawes from Utah and Leroy Blyden Jr. from Toledo. The trio joins a loaded freshmen class that includes 2026 McDonald's All-Americans Tyran Stokes and Taylen Kinney, along with Davion Adkins, Luke Barnett, Trent Perry, and Grant Mordini.
