Kansas Tennis Signs Two

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas tennis signed two student-athletes – Hyejeong Ahn and Polina Koneva – to financial aid agreements last month, KU head coach Todd Chapman announced. The two KU signees will be freshmen for the 2026-27 season.
Ahn is from Seoul, South Korea and has a Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) of 9.62. She was ranked 397 in the ITF junior world rankings in February 2026.
"We are excited to have Hye join our Kansas Tennis family, and we can't wait to get to work with her," Chapman said. "Hye is a really good athlete and is hungry to get better. We think she will thrive in our program."
Koneva is from Vladikavkaz, Russia and has a UTR of 10.14.
"Polina is a high-level player who we believe will come in right away and make an immediate impact on our lineup and program," Chapman said. "We look forward to getting started with Polina and helping her reach her goals on and off the court."
Kansas is coming off its 15th all-time NCAA Tournament appearance in 2026, including its eighth under Chapman. Last year, the Jayhawks posted a 13-11 overall record and finished fifth in the 16-team Big 12 Conference race with a 9-4 league mark.
