YOUR LEGACY IN ACTION
Your passion for Kansas Athletics has the power to create lasting change. By supporting scholarships, you help KU student-athletes excel both in their sport and in the classroom. We invite you to consider a gift that will honor your legacy at KU while strengthening the Jayhawk tradition of helping one another — benefitting current student-athletes and those for generations to come. Through a deferred gift, you can make a more significant impact than you may have imagined. With thoughtful planning, these gifts not only benefit Kansas Athletics in the future but also provide you with financial, tax, and estate planning advantages. In some cases, deferred gifts can even provide you with a steady stream of income.Â
Â
KU Endowment, the official foundation for raising and managing funds on behalf of Kansas Athletics, offers several ways to structure a deferred gift:
Â
BEQUESTS
Leave a lasting legacy by designating KU Endowment as a beneficiary in your will or living trust. Bequests can include cash, securities, real estate, or other valuable assets.
Â
RETIREMENT ASSETS
You can name KU Endowment as a beneficiary of your retirement accounts, such as an IRA, 401(k), or 403(b), to provide long-term support to Kansas Athletics.
Â
CHARITABLE GIFT ANNUITY
A charitable gift annuity allows you to make a gift of cash or securities, receive fixed payments for life, and support KU Endowment with the remainder.
Â
LIFE INSURANCE
By naming KU Endowment as a full or partial beneficiary of your life insurance policy, you can designate a specific amount or percentage of the policy to benefit Kansas Athletics.
Â
With your planned gift, you will not only safeguard the future of Kansas Athletics but also make a profound, lasting impact on generations of Jayhawks to come.

PRIORITY POINTS
The Williams Education Fund understands the importance of priority points to our members; it is what separates donors within their membership level for benefits. Members receive priority points for various areas of support. The priority point system is an equitable way to determine priority for parking, hospitality, postseason tickets, and other benefits. (See the Benefits Chart.)

ACCOUNT GUIDELINES
Kansas Athletics Development encourages every supporter of Kansas Athletics to establish and contribute to an account in his or her own name.
ACCOUNT NAME CHANGES:Â Accounts may request a Williams Education Fund account name change. The account must be at the Legend, All-American, Campanile, Olympian, Champion, Hall of Fame or Oread membership level for the current fund drive. The new account holder must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Â
DECEASED ACCOUNTS:Â If a family member desires to do a Williams Education Fund account name change after the account holder(s) is deceased, it must be finalized within 18 months of the death date of the account holder. Notarized letters must be submitted with the Account Name Change form from any surviving family members down to and including the generation that becomes the new account holder(s).
Â
ADDING OR REMOVING SPOUSE: Adding a spouse should be communicated to our office in writing. Removing a spouse must be done in the form of a notarized letter from both parties. If it involves a divorce, we either need a notarized letter from both parties or a copy of the divorce decree (if it is included how the account should be named and/or points divided).
Â
WAIVING POINTS: Donors have the option to waive points. Should they choose to do so, they should notify their account representative in writing – email or indicated on pledge form. For IRA, foundation or donor-advised fund checks, the donor must waive all points.
