Chuck Hollwedel is in his fourth year at Kansas and first as the Assistant Sport Performance Coach for the women's basketball program. He came to KU in 2023 and has previously worked with the softball and novice rowing programs, while also serving as the sport performance department's internship coordinator.Â
Prior to Kansas, Hollwedel spent two and a half years as the Director of Olympic Sport Performance at Washburn. While in Topeka, he created strength and conditioning proframs for the men's and women's basketball, volleyball, golf, soccer, softball and tennis programs and directed sports technology and data analytics efforts. He also oversaw the renovation of the Ichabods athletic performance weight room.Â
Hollwedel spent the previous three years as the director of athletic performance at Benedictine College in Atchison, where he oversaw the strength, conditioning, speed and acceleration programs for all 14 of the Ravens' athletic teams and was the strength and conditioning coordinator for the Raven football team.
A 2017 graduate of the University of Kansas, Hollwedel holds a bachelor of sceince in health, sport and exercise science from KU with a minor in psychology. He later earned his master's degree in applied exercise science from Concordia University - Chicago in 2020. Hollwedel has held his certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association since 2017.
Hollwedel resides in Lawrence with his wife Lizzy and daughters Briella and Lila.Â
