Freshman diver Shiyun Lai earned first-place honors in the three-meter dive as the Kansas swimming and diving team placed seventh in the 2024 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships with 647.50 points, which concluded on Saturday at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park.
The Kansas swimming and diving team was right back in action for the second day of the 2024 Big 12 Swimming & Diving Championships in Morgantown, West Virginia, on Wednesday at Mylan Park Aquatic Center.
For the third time this season, Kansas freshman Shiyun Lai has been selected as the Big 12 Diver of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday. Lai earned the award after winning both the one-meter and three-meter diving events in Kansas' 186.5-126.5 win at Iowa State Feb. 9-10.
The Kansas Women's Swimming and Diving team closed out their regular season on Saturday with a 186.5-126.5 win over Big 12 Conference foe Iowa State, accumulating five first-place finishes in the dual meet at Beyer Pool.
Friday marked the start of the Kansas Women's Swimming and Diving team's two-day dual meet against Iowa State, representing the first day of competition with a 102.5-62.5 lead over their conference foes inside of Beyer Pool.
The Kansas Women’s Swim and Dive team wrapped up its home schedule with a matchup against Arkansas at the Robinson Natatorium on Friday. The Jayhawks were defeated 178-128 with three first, nine second and six third-place finishes throughout the events.
