WACO, Texas — No. 18 Kansas earned its first five-set victory of the season Friday night, knocking off No. 15 Baylor, 3-2 (19-25, 25-19, 25-13, 25-27, 15-13) to hand the Bears their first conference loss of the year.
LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas sophomore middle blocker Reese Ptacek has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I Player of the Year Watch List, the organization announced Friday. Ptacek is one of 17 midseason additions to the list, which now includes 47 players representing 31 schools nationwide.

The Jayhawks (10-6, 1-1 Big 12) will face No. 12 TCU (11-3, 1-1) on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 6:30 p.m. CT in Fort Worth before heading to Waco for a Friday night showdown with No. 15 Baylor (8-3, 3-0) at 7 p.m. CT. Both matches will stream on ESPN+.
