Kansas finishes the 2023 season and will celebrate Senior Night with a match against rival Kansas State on Monday night in the Dillons Sunflower Showdown. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcast on Big 12 Now on ESPN+. Fans can purchase tickets by clicking here.

Kansas (3-8-6, 0-7-2) dropped its most recent match, 1-0 on Oct. 15 against West Virginia. Seven of Kansas’ eight defeats this season have been by one goal.

The Jayhawks have posted the second-highest save percentage in the Big 12 this season (.819). KU is allowing only 1.0 goal per game this season, which is tied for the fifth fewest in the conference.

Super-senior Melania Pasar has had a strong season in goal for the Jayhawks utilizing her final year of eligibility. Pasar is second in the Big 12 in save percentage (.805), third in total saves (70) and is fifth in the league in goals against average (1.02). She has logged more than 1,500 goalie minutes this season, which is the third most in the Big 12 and ranks 22nd most in the country.

Kansas leads the all-time series 4-2-2 against K-State. KU has posted five shutouts in the eight matchups, which began in 2017. Last season, Kansas and K-State played to a 1-1 draw in Manhattan. Kansas held a 21-5 advantage on shots and KU’s Lia Beyer scored her first career goal in the match for the Jayhawks.

Kansas State (3-11-3, 1-7-1) is coming off a 2-1 loss against Iowa State on Oct. 15. The Wildcats’ conference win came on Oct. 5 in a 1-0 shutout against Houston. Jo Sees and Jazmin Brown each lead K-State with three goals this season. Murphy Sheaff has started all 17 games in net for the Wildcats and has posted a 1.26 goals against average.

SENIOR NIGHT
Prior to the start of Monday’s match, Kansas will honor seven senior student-athletes and two students managers. Mackenzie Boeve, Gabbie Dawe, Kate Dreyer, Shira Elinav, Moira Kelley, Ben Kimbrough (student manager), Porter Neidow (student manager), Melania Pasar and Brie Severns will be recognized.

Fans attending Monday’s game will receive a poster of the seven seniors, while supplies last.
