PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. –
Senior Ekaterina Morozova and sophomore Dylan Windom fell to a third-seeded Florida duo in the main doubles draw of the 2011 ITA/Riviera Women’s All-American Tennis Championships Saturday in Pacific Palisades, Calif. The duo lost in the quarterfinals, eliminating them from the tournament.
“Kate and Dylan made a big statement getting to the quarterfinals,” Kansas head coach Amy Hall-Holt said. “I am very excited for what the future holds for these two.”
Morozova and Windom, ranked 33rd in the Campbell/ITA Preseason Rankings, were defeated by the third-ranked Florida pair of Sofie Oyen and Alli Will, 8-0.
Morozova and Windom became the first Kansas tennis athletes to be selected straight to the main draw of the All-American Championships since Eveline Hamers qualified in 1990.
The Jayhawk women’s tennis team will return to action for the ITA Regionals Oct. 20-23 in Tulsa, Okla. The same weekend, KU will also host the KU Tournament at the Jayhawk Tennis Center in Lawrence. Please check back with kuathletics.com for more information on both tournaments.
