TOPEKA, Kan. – Kansas swimming made their presence known on Friday at the first-ever Sunflower Showdown at the Capitol FederalÂ
The Jayhawks started the afternoon strong, winning the first event of their 2019-20 season. The relay team of junior Manon Manning, sophomore Kate Steward, senior Elizabeth Amato-Hanner and senior Carly Straight topped the 200-yard medley relay leaderboard with a time of 1:44.34. That was just the beginning for KU’s strong outing.
Senior Jenny Nusbaum, Steward, Straight and Amato-Hanner each finished the day with two individual first-place finishes leading the way for Kansas.
