LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas swimming and diving continued their perfect start to the season with a 192-103 victory over the visiting Nebraska Cornhuskers inside Robinson Natatorium. The win gives KU a 4-0 record as they enter midseason.
Four different Jayhawks earned themselves two top individual finishes on the afternoon to lead all the swimmers and divers. Senior Jenny Nusbaum finished with the fastest time in the 200 and 100-yard freestyles while sophomore Kate Steward claimed hers in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events. Freshman Autumn Looney claimed her first two gold finishes of her collegiate career in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly.
In the diving portion of the meet, it was freshman Jiayu Chen who led the way for the Jayhawks once again. She claimed the best score in both the 1-meter (309.15) and the 3-meter (336.60) dives. The finishes give her six consecutive top finishes to begin her collegiate career.
