Kansas Concludes Regular Season at Wisconsin Pre-Nationals

Madison Wis. – The Kansas cross country teams turned in strong performances, with standout efforts from Delaney Fitzgerald, Kenadi Krueger, and Dorcas Kiptanui leading the women's races, while Blake Wohler, Cale Littrell and Tanner Talley were the top finishers for the men at the pre-nationals invite meet.
Sophomore Fitzgerald led the day for the Jayhawks, setting a personal record with a time of 22:10.1 in the women's 6K Open. Her performance earned her a spot in the top 50 among 106 participants. Kansas junior Aaliyah Moore also competed in the 6K Open, finishing 98th at 23:53.0.
In the first men's race of the day, three freshman Jayhawks competed in the Men's 8K Open and all earned a top-75 finish. Wohler led the Kansas men, securing 60th place (25:34.9), followed by Hobbs Campbell in 71st (25:45.8) and Isaac Graff close behind in 72nd place (25:52.3).
The women's cross-country team put in another strong showing in the 6K "B" race, led by super-senior Krueger, who claimed 22nd place with a time of 21:00.7. Freshman Kiptanui made a solid impact, finishing 59th in 21:39.2, while junior Tori Wingrove followed closely, placing 62nd with a time of 21:42.4.
Additionally, freshman Kaitlyn Swarts, Laya Erickson, sophomore Abigail Street, and senior Eden Schwarz also competed in the 6K "B" race, contributing to the team's overall performance.
The men's 8K "B" race capped off the day, with the Jayhawks earning a 15th-place team finish. Junior Talley led the way, finishing 19th overall, and clocked a 24:23.7 8K and came in first among the Jayhawks. Sophomore Sawyer Schmidt claimed 54th place (24:49.3), while senior Littrell rounded out the team's top performers, finishing 70th (25:00.3).
Other Kansas runners who saw action in the men's 8K included freshmen Lenny Njoroje, Ryo Higuchi, and Samuel Trumble, along with junior Quentin Walion.
