Kansas Returns Home to Host NC State Saturday

LAWRENCE, Kan. — No. 10 Kansas (7-2) returns home to host NC State (7-3, 1-0 ACC) on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 2:15 p.m. CT. The game will be played in Allen Fieldhouse and will be televised on ESPN.

At the NC State contest, both teams will be recognizing Hoops4ALS. The teams will be wearing ALS shooting shirts and the coaching staffs will be wearing ALS lapel pins. For more information one can go to Hoops4ALS.com.

Under Bill Self, since 2003-04, Kansas is 123-21 (85.4%) following a loss. Kansas and NC State are meeting for the 14th time in men's basketball and KU leads the overall series, 12-1. The Jayhawks have won the last 12 meetings, most recently a KU 80-74 win on Nov. 23, 2022 in Paradise Island.

Kansas is 158-6 (96.3%) against non-conference opponents inside Allen Fieldhouse under Bill Self and have won their last 19 non-conference games at home beginning Nov. 7, 2022.

This season, the Jayhawks are averaging 78.8 points per game and have a +10.7 scoring margin. KU pulls down 37.1 rebounds per contest with a +4.3 rebound margin. Kansas is making 49.1% from the field, including 34.6% from three-point range. The Jayhawks rank second in the Big 12 and 12th nationally in assists average at 19.0. KU also averages 7.4 steals and 4.1 blocked shots per game. Kansas has shown depth through its first nine outings as the bench is averaging 27.1 points per game, which is the highest bench points average in the Bill Self era (2003-04 to present).

Coming off his fourth double-double of the season with 19 points and 14 rebounds at Missouri (12/8), graduate C Hunter Dickinson leads Kansas in scoring at 15.0 ppg and rebounding at 9.6 rpg, which is second in the Big 12 and 19th nationally. Dickinson also leads KU with 13 blocked shots and he has 14 steals. Senior G Zeke Mayo is next in scoring at 10.9 points per game and he is tied for the team lead with 14 three pointers made. Mayo pulls down 3.9 rebounds per contest. Graduate G Dajuan Harris Jr. is a four-year starter who is averaging 10.7 points and 5.9 assists per game, which is second in the Big 12 and 26th nationally. Harris leads the Big 12 in assist-to-turnover ratio at 4.08, which is 15th nationally, and leads the KU squad with 16 steals. Senior F KJ Adams is a starter who is scoring 9.8 points per game. Adams has 23 assists, nine blocked shots and six steals.

Junior G AJ Storr has started three of the last four games and he is scoring 8.4 points per contest. Storr has made nine threes this season. Junior G Rylan Griffen is third on the team with 11 threes made. He is averaging 7.5 ppg and has started five games this season. Senior G David Coit made four threes at Missouri (12/8) scoring a season-high 14 points. His 14 threes are tied for the team lead with Mayo and Coit is averaging 6.8 points per game. Freshman F Flory Bidunga is scoring 6.6 points per game and is 26-for-32 (81.3%) from the field. Other KU regulars include redshirt-junior F Zach Clemence (1.6 ppg) and freshman G Rakease Passmore (1.4 ppg).
