LAWRENCE, Kan. – National television descends upon Allen Fieldhouse on Sunday, Dec. 15, as the Kansas Jayhawks conclude non-conference play with a matchup against Penn State.

Tipoff from Allen Fieldhouse is set for 2 p.m. CT and the game will be televised on ESPNU with Brenda VanLengen (play-by-play) and Jimmy Dykes (analyst) on the call. Fans can also listen to the game on the Jayhawk Radio Network from Learfield, with Steven Davis and David Lawrence calling the action.

"Sunday's game is really big," Kansas head coach
Brandon Schneider said. "We have had tremendous crowd support to this point in the season, but I'm kind of going to make a public plea to our students and to our community. I'd love to see 6,000-plus in here Sunday afternoon. Everybody that's been coming, go bring a couple friends, and let's make this a really tough environment for our next opponent."

The Jayhawks won their fifth-straight game and improved to 9-1 on the year with a 79-49 victory on Dec. 11. KU previously defeated Wichita State 70-60 on Dec. 5 after going 3-0 at the Paradise Jam on Nov. 28-30, with victories over Pittsburgh (59-53), Northern Iowa (76-73) and Auburn (61-60) to claim the tournament title.

Sania Copeland led the Jayhawks in scoring for the first time this season as she totaled a season-high 17 points in the win over Kansas City. Copeland has scored in double figures four times this season and averages 7.2 points per game for the year.

Regan Williams, the reigning Big 12 Freshman of the Week, recorded her second-straight double-double in the win over Kansas City, scoring 12 points and grabbing a career-high 16 rebounds. On Monday, Dec. 9, Williams earned her first career Big 12 weekly honor after totaling 13 points and 11 rebounds in KU's win over Wichita State.

Preseason All-Big 12 selection
S'Mya Nichols has performed at an all-conference level through the first 10 games of her sophomore season. She ranks No. 3 in the Big 12 and No. 15 nationally in scoring, averaging 20.6 points per game. She had 16 points and tied her career-high with nine assists in the win over Kansas City, and she's scored at least 16 points in all 10 games this season.

Elle Evans scored 15 points for the second-straight game after knocking down 4-of-8 three-pointers vs. Kansas City. Evans has hit multiple three-pointers in seven-straight games and is shooting 39.1 percent (25-64) from long range.

Brittany Harshaw returned to the lineup against Kansas City after missing the previous seven games. Harshaw scored eight points in the win and is averaging 10.3 points per game for the year.

Kansas has won 14-consecutive games at Allen Fieldhouse, which ranks No. 9 among active streaks in the country. Since the start of last season, KU has a home record of 19-1 and the Jayhawks have won 27 of their last 28 home games dating back to late in the 2022-23 season.

Penn State comes to Lawrence with a record of 9-2 following a 68-51 victory at Providence on Wednesday. The Lady Lions suffered their two losses back-to-back at the beginning of December, falling to St. John's (72-67) and Indiana (75-60). Â

Sunday's matchup will by the culmination of a home-and-home series between Penn State and Kansas. The Lady Lions claimed a 91-85 victory over the Jayhawks on Nov. 13, 2023, to take a 3-2 all-time lead in the series. Penn State makes their first-ever appearance in Allen Fieldhouse this weekend.
