Kansas Softball Adds Three New Transfers

LAWRENCE, Kan. - Kansas Softball Head Coach Jennifer McFalls announced the addition of three transfer portal signees—Haley Webb, Madi Hays and Candace Yingling—before the start of the 2024-25 softball season.
"I'm thrilled about our three transfers," McFalls said. "They add much-needed depth to our defense and bring both speed and power to our offensive lineup, making us a stronger and more dynamic team."
Webb is a 6-foot-1 sophomore who spent her freshman year at Indiana State as the starting catcher. The Fort Wayne, Indiana native started and played in all 30 games, achieving a .966 fielding percentage with 129 putouts and just five errors. Offensively, Webb had 16 hits, including five doubles and one home run, while driving in six RBIs. She also posted a .329 slugging percentage and a .260 on-base percentage.
Hays will make her sophomore season debut as an outfielder after spending a season at the Texas-San Antonio. During her time with the Roadrunners, the 5-foot-4 Bellevue, Nebraska native appeared in 53 games, had 26 hits, including five doubles and four home runs and recorded nine RBIs. Hays also drew 18 walks, contributing a .338 on-base percentage and a .347 slugging percentage. Defensively, Hays boasts a career fielding percentage of .943. Hays attended Millard South High School where she set program records for home runs, batting average, on-base percentage and total bases. Additionally, she holds the sixth-highest career batting average in her home state of Nebraska.
Yingling is a 5-foot-10 senior transfer from Cal State Fullerton. Before joining Cal State Fullerton, the Temecula, California native attended UC Berkeley for three seasons, where she played in 63 games with 37 starts. Defensively, Yingling maintained an impressive .992 fielding percentage and accumulated 246 putouts, recording only two errors over her tenure at Berkeley. In her season at Cal State Fullerton, she played in all 36 games, batted .389, posted a .436 on-base percentage and recorded zero errors throughout the season.
