LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women's basketball will play its fourth-straight game against a Big 12 Conference newcomer on Wednesday, Jan. 22, as the Jayhawks travel west to face the Utah Utes.

Tipoff from the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City is set for 8 p.m. CT and the game will be televised on ESPN+ with Tony Parks (play-by-play) and Angela Taylor (analyst) on the call. Fans can also listen to the game on the Jayhawk Radio Network from Learfield, with Steven Davis calling the action.

Wednesday's contest will be the first all-time meeting between Kansas and Utah in women's basketball.

Kansas has faced the other three Big 12 newcomers in its last three games, going 1-2 with a 75-52 win over Arizona State on Jan. 16 sandwiched between defeats at Colorado (84-76) and at home against Arizona (74-59). The Jayhawks are now 12-6 on the year, which includes a 2-5 mark in conference play.

Utah enters the contest with a record of 13-5, but the Utes have dropped three of their last four games to fall to 4-3 in league play. Utah fell from the Associated Press Top 25 poll on Monday after being ranked No. 23 last week. Among Utah's 13 victories is a 78-67 win over No. 3 Notre Dame at the Cayman Islands Classic, which is the highest-ranked neutral site victory in program history.

Utah is ranked sixth in the Big 12 in scoring, averaging 77.3 points per game while featuring one of the top three-point shooting teams in the nation. The team hits 9.6 three-pointers on average, ranking No. 15 nationally, while shooting 36.5 percent from long range, which ranks 21st. Gianna Kneepkens leads the way for Utah, averaging 17.4 points per game while shooting a league-leading 90.9 percent from the free throw line.

S'Mya Nichols scored a game-high 21 points against Arizona, marking the 12th time this season she has topped the 20-point mark. Nichols is the No. 2 leading scorer in the Big 12 and No. 13 nationally with 20.7 points per game. Kansas women's basketball has not had a player average more than 20 points per game for an entire season since Danielle McCray scored 21.6 points on average during the 2008-09 season.

Nichols was 8-of-11 from the free throw line vs. Arizona to maintain her national lead in both free throws made (154) and attempted (187).

Regan Williams finished with 11 points and four rebounds in the Arizona game, marking her third-straight game and fourth time in the past five games she's scored in double figures. Williams is KU's third-leading scorer, averaging 8.6 points per game while leading the Jayhawks with 5.3 rebounds per game.

Elle Evans had a streak of nine consecutive games scoring in double figures snapped vs. Arizona as she was held to nine points on 4-of-6 shooting, but she matched her season-high with seven rebounds. Evans is KU's No. 2 leading scorer, averaging 14.8 points per game, while shooting 40.6 percent (43-106) from long range for the year. She set a season-high with 28 points at Colorado on Jan. 11, hitting 7-of-12 three-pointers.

Laia Conesa scored 11 points vs. Arizona, setting a new career high with 7-of-8 free throw shooting. Conesa scored in double figures three times in the past four games to raise her scoring average to 7.1 points per game.
