LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas Jayhawks are back at home on Wednesday, Jan. 29, to continue Big 12 Conference play with a matchup against Texas Tech.

Tipoff from Allen Fieldhouse is set for 6:30 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Josh Klingler (play-by-play) and Brenda VanLengen (analyst) on the call. Fans can also listen to the game on the Jayhawk Radio Network from Learfield, with Steven Davis and David Lawrence calling the action.

Kansas carries momentum into the game following a 57-43 victory at Houston on Jan. 25, which improved the Jayhawks to 13-7 (3-6 Big 12) on the year. Four players scored in double figures for KU, who was led by
S'Mya Nichols (16 points) and
Elle Evans (13), while
Laia Conesa and
Regan Williams posted double-doubles with identical stat lines of 11 points and 10 rebounds.Â

Conesa recorded her first career double-double at Houston and set a new career-high with 10 rebounds. She has scored in double figures in five of the last six games, including four-straight games with exactly 11 points. Conesa is now averaging 7.5 points per game, which ranks fourth on the team.

Williams secured her third double-double of the season as she scored in double figures for the eighth time. Williams has started all 20 games as a freshman and was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week on Dec. 9. She's KU's third-leading scorer at 8.6 points per game while leading the Jayhawks with 5.4 rebounds per game.

Nichols led the way for Kansas with 16 points at Houston, hitting 8-of-9 free throws in the win. Nichols is the No. 2 leading scorer in the Big 12 and No. 16 nationally, averaging 20.8 points per game, and she has scored 20+ points in 13 games this season. Kansas women's basketball has not had a player average more than 20 points per game for an entire season since Danielle McCray scored 21.6 points on average during the 2008-09 season.

Kansas signee Jaliya Davis, a 6-foot-2 forward from Blue Valley North HS in Leawood, Kansas, was named a McDonald's All-American on Monday. She becomes the third McDonald's All-American in program history and the second to sign with KU out of high school, joining Lauren Ervin in 2003.

Texas Tech has won two of its past three games, defeating BYU (70-65) and Houston (62-44) before suffering a 71-68 defeat at home against Oklahoma State on Jan. 25. The Lady Raiders are 14-8 (3-6 Big 12) on the year. Tech averages 65.7 points per game, with Jasmine Shavers (14.5 ppg) and Bailey Maupin (14.0) leading the way. TTU ranks second in the Big 12 in both bench points (24.2 ppg) and turnovers forced per game (19.6).

Saturday's contest will be the 43rd all-time meeting between Kansas and Texas Tech in a series dating back to 1978. Tech leads the all-time series 26-16, which includes an 11-9 mark in Lawrence, but Kansas has won four of the past five meetings. The two teams met once last season, with the Lady Raiders claiming a 73-64 victory on Jan. 6, 2024, in Lubbock.
