LAWRENCE, Kan. – Two Jayhawks were recognized in the Big 12 weekly swim and dive awards with senior
Hailey Farrell winning Swimmer of the Week and freshman
Kelly Estebo taking newcomer and diver of the week. This marks the third instance thus far in the 2025 – 26 season where KU has swept the Big 12 categories.
"Hailey and Kelly both led the way for us last week," says Kansas head coach
Clark Campbell. "Really happy with Hailey's hard work paying as she improves her backstroke. Kelly is coming off an injury and has been incredible working thru that. This caps off a very solid fall campaign for us and we now squarely focus on Big 12's and the championship season coming up in February and March."
Farrell's dominating performance against Rockhurst landed the senior her first Big 12 weekly win and Kansas' third Swimmer of the Week acknowledgment of the season. Estebo also picked up her first ever Big 12 awards in her debut meet, as well as the second Jayhawk to earn Diver of the Week after junior
Shiyun Lai. She is also the third to receive Newcomer of the Week.
Farrell posted personal record times in all three completed events, including a new Robinson Pool record in the 200-yard IM (2:01.31). She finished second in both the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke.
Estebo swept the diving events against Rockhurst scoring 272.78 points in the 3-meter and 259.28 in the 1-meter, leading the Jayhawks to a 202-48 win.
