Get to Know Hailey ...
At what age did you start swimming and how did you get into the sport?
- I started swimming at age 8. Dance and gymnastics weren’t my thing.
- I must have a five minute conversation with Frank (Athletic Trainer). The night before a meet I have to go to Noodles and Company with Addi Barnes.
- I have an obsession with the band "Five Finger Death Punch". If you don’t know what that is, ask your dad.
- Hockey because I would be good at hitting people.
- You can achieve more than you’ll ever realize.
- My high school coaches. They are the biggest reason I made it to the collegiate level and helped me decide to continue my athletic career.
- There’s no place like Kansas. The resources here are unmatched and the community is so supportive. Since there are no professional teams, the college teams are that much bigger.

2024-25 (Junior)
- CSC Academic All-District
- Academic All-Big 12 Team
- Earned a pair of second place finishes in the 200 IM (2:08.75) and 100 fly (57.75) at the Sunflower Showdown on October 4. Was also a member of the third place 200 medley relay.
- Placed third in the 200 butterfly (2:08.53) at the Illinois Dual on October 10.
- Helped the 400 free relay to a win over South Dakota on October 26.
- Posted a trio of podium finishes at the Nebraska Dual (Nov. 1, 2024) finishing second in the 200 IM (2:05.82) and third in the 200 fly (2:04.33) and 500 free (4:57.91).
- Finished third in the 500 free (5:07.67) and 200 IM (2:09.06) at Houston on Jan. 11
- Came in runner-up in the 200 IM (2:04.67) at Arkansas on Jan. 24
- Earned a silver medal in the 500 free (4:59.17) and a pair of bronze in the 200 free (1:50.91) and 200 IM (2:05.56) against Iowa State on Feb. 7
- Posted a pair of lifetime bests with a 16th place finish in the 400 IM (4:21.10) and 21st place finish in the 200 IM (2:02.11) at the Big 12 Championship
2023-24 (Sophomore)
- College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
- Academic All-Big 12 First Team.
- Recorded a new personal best in the 200-yard IM by four seconds (2:04.95) at the Crimson and Blue Exhibition.
- Led the Kansas squad with the best time in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:56.19 at the Mizzou Invite on Nov. 15, 2023.
- Third best time on the team this season in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:50.83 and 200-yard fly at 2:04.65, both which she set at the Mizzou Invite.
- Won the 400-yard IM (4:30.46) and got second in 500-yard freestyle (5:09.05) in the Kansas Double Dual.
2022-23 (Freshman)
- Placed fifth in 400-yard IM (4:21.66) at the Big 12 Championship on Feb. 22nd.
- Placed third in the 500-yard freestyle (5:17.50) at the Sunflower Showdown.
