Get to Know Sophie...
At what age did you start swimming and how did you get into the sport?
I started swimming summer league when I was 5 and then I joined my first club team when I was 9.
What routines do you practice before a big race to help you focus and stay ready?
I like to listen to hype music before my races.
What sport would you play if you did not swim and why?
I used to play soccer, so probably that.
What advice would you give to young athletes who are just starting out in swimming?
Have fun with it and the rewards will come.
Why did you choose the University of Kansas?
I chose KU for the team atmosphere and school spirit.
2025-26 (Sophomore)
- Big 12 Winter Academic Team (4.0)
- Helped the 200 freestyle relay team break a Robinson Pool record (1:32.24) on Dec. 7 vs. Houston
2024-25 (Freshman)
- Academic All-Rookie Team
- Helped the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays to second place finishes at the Sunflower Showdown on Oct. 4.
- A member of the 200 freestyle relay that won over South Dakota on Oct. 25.
- Assisted the 400 freestyle relay to second place at the Nebraska Dual on Nov. 1.Â
- Came in runner-up in the 100 backstroke (58.95) against Rockhurst on Dec. 7
- Posted a lifetime best of 56.61 in the 100 butterfly at the Big 12 Championship

- Swam for Parkway Swim Club and was coached by Canaan Campbell, son of Head Coach Clark Campbell
