Lai Secures Spot in One-Meter and Three-Meter Diving Events at This Year's NCAA Championships

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Kansas standout diver Shiyun Lai qualified for the one-meter and three-meter diving events at the 2025 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships following her strong performances at NCAA Zones this week.Â
This marks the second consecutive year that Lai has qualified for both diving events at the NCAA Championships.Â
The NCAA Zone Diving Championships began on Monday, March 10, with the three-meter event, where Lai earned an impressive second-place finish with a score of 686.55. She followed up with another strong performance on Tuesday, finishing fourth in the one-meter event with a total score of 605.75.Â
At last year's NCAA Championships, Lai placed 14th in both the one-meter and three-meter events, earning Honorable Mention All-America honors in each.Â
Lai is set to compete at the NCAA Championships, beginning with the one-meter event on Thursday, March 20, followed by the three-meter event on Friday, March 21. Live streaming for the event will be broadcast via ESPN+.Â
