LAWRENCE, Kan. – Postseason play begins on Wednesday, March 5, as the Kansas Jayhawks face Texas Tech in the first round of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.

Tipoff from the T-Mobile Center is set for 8 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Brenda VanLengen (play-by-play) and Andrea Lloyd (analyst) on the call. Fans can also listen to the game on the Jayhawk Radio Network from Learfield, with Steven Davis and David Lawrence calling the action.

Kansas (16-13) enters the Big 12 Championship as the No. 11 seed after finishing 6-12 in league play this season. The Jayhawks are 10-10 all-time in the first round of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship, and 15-27 all-time at the event.

Texas Tech (15-16) finished in a three-way tie for 12th in the conference, two games behind Kansas. The Lady Raiders defeated Colorado 83-79 in overtime on the final day of the regular season to snap a nine-game losing streak.

Kansas had three players named to the 2024-25 All-Big 12 Women's Basketball team.
S'Mya Nichols earned All-Big 12 First Team honors for the second consecutive season while
Elle Evans (Honorable Mention) and
Regan Williams (All-Freshman Team) also earned a spot on the team.

Nichols earns All-Big 12 First Team honors for the second time. She leads the Jayhawks and ranks fifth in the league in scoring, averaging 18.9 points per game, and has scored in double figures 26 times in 29 games, with 16 games of 20 or more points. Nichols leads the Big 12 and ranks second nationally in both free throws made (216) and free throws attempted (258) and is shooting 83.7 percent from the free throw line.

Evans picked up an All-Big 12 selection following her first season at Kansas. She is KU's No. 2 leading scorer, averaging 14.4 points per game for the season, a mark that's even higher at 15.1 points per game during league play. A prolific shooter, Evans has connected on 69 three-pointers to move into a tie for No. 2 in school history for a single season. She's shooting 42.1 percent from long range, which ranks fifth in school history, and 84.5 percent (60-71) from the free throw line, which ranks second.

Williams claims her first All-Big 12 honors after making an immediate impact for the Jayhawks as a freshman. She has appeared in all 29 games, making 24 starts and ranks third on the team with an average of 8.9 points per game, while leading the Jayhawks with 5.0 rebounds per game and 53.6 percent field goal shooting.

Kansas and Texas Tech met once during the regular season, a 57-50 KU victory on Jan. 29 in Lawrence. In that game, the Jayhawks outscored Tech 13-6 over the final 2:47 to secure the victory. Nichols led the Jayhawks with 20 points and six assists, while Williams had 14 points and
Laia Conesa added 10.

Kansas has won five of the last six matchups against Texas Tech, including a streak of four-straight wins before the Lady Raiders defeated KU 73-64 last season in Lubbock. Texas Tech leads the all-time series 26-17.

Wednesday's contest will be just the second all-time meeting between Kansas and Texas Tech in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship, and the first since Tech defeated KU 71-53 to win the 1998 tournament championship.
