LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas soccer announced its schedule for the second season under the leadership of head coach Nate Lie on Monday. The 2025 schedule includes 19 regular season matches, 11 Big 12 Conference games and 11 contests at Rock Chalk Park.
"We're looking forward to a challenging 2025 schedule," Lie said. "Last fall was obviously the first season together for our staff and players. At the end of the year, we saw a glimpse of what our program has the potential to be for many years to come."
The Jayhawks will play 11 matches at Rock Chalk Park and eight games on the road. Kansas will open up the season on August 14 against Missouri State and two weeks later will host Florida State, a program that has won four national championships in the last 11 seasons. The first road contest comes on August 24 at Utah State and Big 12 play will begin on September 18 at Oklahoma State.
The top eight teams at the end of the regular season will qualify for the 2025 Big 12 Soccer Championship, which will be held on two Big 12 campuses. The quarterfinals on November 3 and semifinals on November 5 will be played at TCU's Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium, while the championship match will be played on November 8 at Baylor's Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field.
The University of Kansas and the Kansas City Sports Commission will host the 2025 NCAA Division I Women's College Cup this season. The semifinals and finals of the Division I Women's Soccer Championship will take place on December 5, 2025 and December 8, 2025 at CPKC Stadium, home of the Kansas City Current from the National Women's Soccer League.
Last season, Kansas qualified for its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2019 and won the Big 12 Tournament Championship for the second time in program history. Lie led the Jayhawks to a 13-6-4 record and a 6-4-1 conference record, including an eight-game winning streak, which tied a program record for consecutive wins in a season.
"We hope to carry some of the momentum from last season into this fall, but it will not be easy," Lie said. "After winning the Big 12 Tournament and going to the NCAA Tournament a year ago, our group has to be prepared for every match and we're excited for that opportunity."
Kansas will be entering its 31st season of women's soccer when the team begins the 2025 season in August.
