LUBBOCK, Texas – Kansas soccer suffered a 2-0 loss to No. 18 Texas Tech at the John Walker Soccer Complex on Sunday afternoon.
"We played a very good team today in Texas Tech and this is a very difficult venue to play in," Kansas head coach Nate Lie said. "The wind was a major factor today which made it a very tough challenge."Â
Lie continued, "I liked our chances to give them issues in the second half. I think we got out-fought physically, we let Texas Tech run through us. They dictated the physicality, I'm disappointed on that side of things. We got through a tough part of our schedule, but there's still a ton to play for, and I still believe in this team."

Texas Tech (10-1-1, 4-0-1 Big 12) opened up the scoring quickly with a goal by Taylor Zdrojewski in the 10th minute of the match.
Kansas (8-3-2, 2-3-0 Big 12) drew a corner kick in the 13th minute, where Caroline Castans curled the ball into the back of the net, but the goal was negated due to a KU foul. Both teams traded shots throughout the first half, but neither team could score again, leading to a 1-0 halftime lead for the Red Raiders.
The Jayhawks upped the offensive pressure in the second half, as Lexi Watts took two shots in the 56th and 61st minutes, but both were saved by the Texas Tech goalkeeper.
Zdrojewski scored her second goal of the game in the 69th minute, as she snuck behind the Kansas back line and scored off a pass from Peyton Parsons.
Kansas couldn't find an answer in the last 20 minutes and ultimately fell 2-0. Watts led the Jayhawks with four shots, including three on goal.
