LAWRENCE, Kan. – For the sixth consecutive season, Kansas Volleyball has been recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) with the Team Academic Award, the organization announced Monday.
The honor, which celebrates collegiate volleyball programs maintaining a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 or higher, highlights the Jayhawks' continued success in the classroom. Kansas posted a 3.79 GPA during the 2024–25 academic year, setting a new program record. This marks the 14th time overall that Kansas has earned the AVCA Team Academic Award, including every year since 2019.
The AVCA Team Academic Award was created in 1992 and honors teams that display excellence in academic performance throughout the school year.
Kansas enters the 2025 season with momentum built on a strong foundation of academic and athletic success. The Jayhawks open the season at the AVCA First Serve, taking on Vanderbilt in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Saturday, Aug. 23. Kansas will play 14 non-conference matches before opening Big 12 play against Arizona State on Friday, Sept. 26, at Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena.
