LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas volleyball has unveiled its 2026 non-conference schedule, head coach
Matt Ulmer announced Friday afternoon. The Jayhawks will play three exhibition matches in August before beginning a challenging regular-season slate that features multiple tournaments, a pair of meetings with Wichita State and two home-hosted events inside Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena.
Kansas opens the preseason with three exhibition matches on Aug. 8, Aug. 15 and Aug. 22. The Aug. 22 contest will serve as an exhibition matchup against the Creighton Bluejays, while the first two exhibitions will be Kansas-designated matches. All three exhibitions are scheduled for 1 p.m. CT in Lawrence.
The Jayhawks officially begin the regular season at the Opening Spike Classic on Aug. 28, squaring off against Pittsburgh before closing the weekend on Aug. 30 against Stanford. Match times for the tournament will be announced at a later date.
Kansas will remain on the road the following week, traveling to Nashville, Tennessee, to compete in the Lipscomb Tournament from Sept. 3–5. There, the Jayhawks will face host Lipscomb Bisons and Florida State Seminoles.
The Jayhawks then return home for a midweek matchup with Wichita State Shockers volleyball before settling into a rare stretch of back-to-back home tournaments. Something Kansas has not done since the 2024 season.
Kansas will host South Dakota State on Sept. 11 and Tulsa on Sept. 13 as part of the Kansas Invitational, marking the first of two home tournaments. After a rematch with Wichita State on Sept. 15 in Wichita, the Jayhawks close out non-conference play with the annual Jayhawk Classic from Sept. 18–20, welcoming Ole Miss and GCU to Lawrence.
Dates, match times, and ticket information for the home tournaments will be announced at a later time.
