LAWRENCE, Kan. - Kansas cross country will compete at the Pre-National Invitational for its third meet of the season on Friday, Oct. 16, at the
LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana.
"We have been working really hard for the past three weeks, and this weekend will be about taking that increased fitness and putting it out there on the course," Kansas assistant head coach Michael Whittlesey said. "We are going to work really hard to make sure we are working as a team and running in groups, committing to both our fitness and our teammates throughout the race. Especially in a bigger field like this one, it's going to be more difficult to find and stick with teammates, but we have to be able to execute that as the key to our success this season."
The Jayhawks are scheduled to compete with eight runners in the Blue races, with the women's 6K race scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. CT and the men's 8K race set for 9:40 a.m. CT. Following the Blue races, any Jayhawk athletes that did not compete will run in the White races with the women's 6K starting at 10:20 a.m. CT and the men's 8K beginning at 11 a.m. CT.
