LAWRENCE, Kan. — Kansas men's basketball signee Taylen Kinney has been named a 2026 McDonald's All-American. He will participate in the McDonald's All-American boys' game, which is scheduled to be played on March 31, 2026, in Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
Only 24 players among the more than 700 nominated were selected as 2026 McDonald's All-Americans. Kinney gives Kansas 53 total signees who have earned the honor, starting with Darnell Valentine in 1977. Current Jayhawks

A 6-foot-2 guard from Newport, Kentucky, Kinney plays for RWE in Overtime Elite. In 2025-26, Kinney is averaging 18.8 points 4.8 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game. He has eight games of 20 or more points scored, including 33 and 32-point outings. Kinney has five double doubles this season, including three that came by points and assists and two via points and rebounds.
Kinney is ranked No. 13 nationally by 247Sports.com, No. 17 by Rivals.com, and No. 18 by ESPN100.
Last month, Kinney was one of 25 high school standouts named to the 2026 Naismith Boys High School Player of the Year Midseason Watch List.
