Tyson Owens scored. Kansas led 8-0 at the end of three innings.
• KU added a run in the sixth inning on an RBI groundout by Dykhoff.

QUOTABLES & NOTABLES
"I really like the way we're approaching it offensively. We talk so much about the process and there were long stretches early in the season where I thought our process was really good and we weren't coming up with a ton to show for it. It's fun to see when it turns. Coach Hancock has done an unbelievable job with our hitters, and our hitters have done an unbelievable job of just staying in the process and sticking to trying to play good baseball and it's fun to get rewarded for it today." – Head Coach
Dan Fitzgerald
"It feels good [to get the win]. Missouri is a well-respected SEC school. We just wanted to go out there and handle business today. Not just for the rivalry, but for the program because we know we haven't fully got off to the start we wanted to. Coming out here and having that type of offensive game will really help us moving forward." –
Dariel Osoria
"I felt good. I've got quite a few innings under my belt coming out of the bullpen. I was excited to get my name called for the start today. I was glad to be able to go out there, give my team a couple good innings and hand it off." –
