LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas freshman
Ella Boyer was named a Third Team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), the organization announced on Wednesday. Boyer becomes Kansas' 14
th All-America honoree all-time and first since 2020.
Boyer has now been named a Freshman All-American by D1 Softball and a Third Team All-American by the NFCA. Boyer becomes Kansas' first All-America honoree since Shelby Gayre (2020) and is the 14
th in program history.
Boyer was one of 34 student-athletes named to one of the three All-America teams including one of eight individuals from the Big 12 Conference.
Boyer, a native of Spring, Texas, finished the 2026 season with one of the best freshman seasons in Kansas softball history. Boyer's 18 home runs were the most by a freshman in Kansas softball history, while she led Kansas in RBIs (60), OPS (1.256), slugging percentage (.781), walks (36) and on-base percentage (.475).Â
Boyer was named the unanimous Big 12 Freshman of the Year in 2026, becoming the third Jayhawk freshman to win the award in program history. Boyer was also named First Team All-Big 12 and Freshman All-Big 12, while being named to the NFCA All-Region Second Team.
Kansas recently finished the season with a 36-21 mark, totaling the most wins in a season by the program in 11 seasons. Head coachÂ
Jennifer McFalls' team also set a program record in Big 12 Conference wins (14), home runs (81), runs scored (371) and RBIs (353), while returning to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015.
Boyer was one of 18 individuals named to the Freshman All-America First Team and was the only representative from the Big 12 Conference.
