Kansas Extends Jennifer McFalls with Multi-Year Agreement

After leading Kansas to an NCAA Tournament appearance for the first time since 2015, Kansas softball head coach Jennifer McFalls has signed a three-year contract extension with a fourth-year option through the 2030 season, Director of Athletics Travis Goff announced today.
LAWRENCE, Kan. – After leading Kansas to an NCAA Tournament appearance for the first time since 2015, Kansas softball head coach Jennifer McFalls has signed a three-year contract extension with a fourth-year option through the 2030 season, Director of Athletics Travis Goff announced today.
In her nine-year tenure, McFalls has led the Jayhawks to a 181-212-1 overall record and a record-breaking 2026 campaign with the most single-season wins (36) since 2015 and the first NCAA Tournament appearance in 11 years.
"Coach McFalls continues to provide strong leadership for our softball program, and we're very pleased with the progress the team is making," Goff said. "Making the NCAA Tournament last season was an important step forward and reflected the culture that Jen and her staff have instilled. With a talented core of young players returning and momentum from recent success, the future is very bright. We are proud of how far this program has come and excited to see its continued growth."
The 2026 season was a historic one as the Jayhawks finished with a 36-21 overall record, a 14-10 record in Big 12 Conference play and advanced to the semifinal round of the Big 12 Tournament. McFalls coached the Jayhawks to 19 top 100 RPI wins, 11 top 50 RPI wins and five top 25 RPI wins.
Kansas set single-season records in Big 12 Conference wins (14), doubles (97), home runs (81), runs scored (371) and RBIs (353).
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to continue to lead this program," McFalls said. "We have made significant strides over the last couple of years and I'm hoping to continue the momentum we've built, and to be competitive in the Big 12 and throughout the postseason. I am thankful for Travis Goff and Nicole Corcoran and their belief in my leadership and the ability of our staff to represent Kansas Athletics and positively impact our student-athletes."
In addition to team improvement, individual player development has been prevalent during McFalls' tenure.
Freshman catcher and utility player Ella Boyer was named unanimous Big 12 Freshman of the Year, the third Jayhawk to earn the honor and the first since Daniella Chavez in 2015. The two All-Big 12 first team honorees in Boyer and Anna Soles mark the first time Kansas has had multiple players earn first team nods since 2015. The Jayhawks also placed Presley Limbaugh on the All-Big 12 Second Team, Boyer, Blakely Barber and Lila Partridge on the All-Freshman team and Hailey Cripe and Limbaugh on the Defensive Team.
In McFalls' tenure, she has coached 11 All-Big 12 selections, eight NFCA All-Region players and two All-Americans.
